OD's is everything that makes Nyack great! The servers and bartenders are all wonderful, welcoming, and quick on their feet. The food is delicious and varied, and the drink selections is stellar.
OD's also has great musical events on Monday's (folk/bluegrass jam) and Wednesday's (open mic), and both nights are filled with wonderful music and a great atmosphere in which to enjoy it. -

Came here one rainy weekend night and was greeted at the door by a rotund waitress with a pleasant smile. She seemed less than happy to hear me request table for one and suggested i order at the bar which Is something i never do. Told her I don't mind waiting at the bar and she said it would be a 45min to an hour wait.
So i waited. A small table (for two) was empty and left unturned for at least 1/2 an hour. An hour + passed. A couple came in from the rain and they sat them right away at the table. They did not have a reservation.
I informed the bartender that the hostess/wait staff had forgotten about me. He did nothing about it. Asked me if i wanted to put an order in at the bar. Didn't even offer to cover my drink. Wtf. Check please.
Goodness me that really is some horrendous service. Made for an awfully uncomfortable experience. -

So excited to haves found this place on Yelp! Vegan and non-vegan options are super helpful when dining with a mixed diet crowd. The cornbread is vegan and served in small slices (2)... more like a cornbread toast (wasn't something I would order again). For my entree I ordered the kale tahini salad and the waitress recommended the crabless cake as an accompaniment which I was delish and ginormous! Salad was pretty busy with tomatoes, seeds, brussel sprouts but the life of the party was the crispy crabless cake! For dessert, the berry compote with vegan ice cream! It took about 15 minutes to make but well worth the wait. I really enjoyed the granola crust with the warm compote and ice cream (drool). Looking forward to returning and trying other vegan entrees!
Update: Instead if just editing my original review I am going to provide an update because I want to allow Yelpers to read my original review and then read my experience on my second visit (Yelping can be impactful to business owners so let us be mindful of our reviews before posting... just a gentle reminder to the community). Ok the cornbread sort of toast... this time around it was served like the cornbread I am accustomed to eating (see recent pic). The staff added pieces of corn to the mix and it was very good (yes I will order it again)! I cant say for sure if it had anything to do with my review but I do appreciate them changing the dish. This restaurant (like many I've reviewed in the past) read these reviews (our top notch hostess remembered me, my review and mentioned they'd been working on changing their cornbread recipe) so they may take our comments into consideration which is why I take Yelping seriously and am glad to be part of the Yelping community! -

Had a great experience here. Pleasant and attentive staff. Diverse menu with excellently prepared meals. Our group of 5 all enjoyed what they ordered, even the vegan. We will be back. They have a fun selection of craft beer as well.

The view of the slightly inconspicuous tavern door, looking down the road toward the Hudson, the clapboard early twentieth century new buzz and melancholy mix was modern day Edward hopper.
Indeed the shaker chairs, hearty plates and sincere staff spelled New England charm.
"Do yo my have any beer specials?"
"Yeah $3 mystery beer, we just grab whatever." This turned out to be prudent as I drank through dogfish IPA, a sierras Nevada and a San Adams.
My friend ordered the corn beef and cabbage while I went for the burger.
His dish came with mustard for dipping and potatoes, mine was fairly standard with a good beef party that wasn't too salty and nice fries.
The food was good, the drink specials even better, and the comfortable warm buzzing local atmosphere - the best part of the show.
Locals get too priority so don't be suprised if you are told to leave by a certain time due to a reservation. In this case not pretentious but practical.
